Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: July 3, 2026
1. Scope
This Acceptable Use Policy (the "Policy") governs your use of ApexApi, operated by Nitrotech Inc., a Delaware corporation ("Nitrotech", "we", "us"). It applies to all services and is in addition to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. It applies with particular force to our web data services (the "Scrape API" and "Crawl API"), which fetch content from third-party websites at your direction. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meaning given in the Terms.
2. Your Responsibility for Targets and Data
When you send a URL to the Scrape or Crawl API, you choose the target and the purpose. You represent and warrant that, for every request you make:
- you have the legal right to access and process the content at that URL;
- your use of the returned content complies with all applicable laws and with the target site's terms, and does not infringe any third party's intellectual-property, privacy, or contractual rights;
- you are not using the Service to circumvent an access control you are not authorized to bypass.
ApexApi provides neutral infrastructure. As between you and Nitrotech, you are responsible for the URLs you submit and the use you make of the results, and you agree to indemnify us for claims arising from that use as set out in the Terms.
3. Prohibited Targets and Uses
You may not use the Service to fetch, collect, or process:
- Authentication-gated content — pages behind a login, paywall, or other access control that you are not authorized to bypass, or content requiring credentials that are not your own;
- Personal or sensitive data at scale — bulk harvesting of personal data (names, contact details, biometric or facial data, government IDs, health or financial records) for profiling, re-identification, surveillance, or sale;
- Children's data or content directed at minors for data collection;
- Content that infringes copyright, database rights, or trademarks, including systematic copying intended to reproduce or compete with the source's database;
- Categories prohibited by our upstream providers — targets barred by the acceptable-use policies of our proxy and unlocking vendors, including government, military, and law-enforcement systems, and other categories we designate from time to time;
- Illegal, harmful, or deceptive material — CSAM, content that facilitates violence or terrorism, malware distribution, phishing, or fraud.
You also may not use the Service to:
- conduct denial-of-service attacks, or send request volumes designed to degrade or overload a target site;
- probe, scan, or test the security of any system without authorization, or access internal, private, or non-public network resources;
- resell or redistribute the raw Service as your own scraping infrastructure.
4. robots.txt and Site Signals
By default the Service respects the robots.txt directives of target sites and will decline to fetch paths a site disallows for automated agents. We may also maintain a blocklist of domains that may not be fetched through the Service. We do not offer, and you may not request, a means of overriding these controls to access disallowed or blocked content.
5. Rate, Volume, and Fair Use
You must operate within the rate limits and account balance applicable to your API key. You may not attempt to evade rate limits or usage metering, and you must structure crawls to be reasonable in volume and frequency relative to the target site's capacity.
6. Data Retention
Content returned by the Scrape API is delivered to you in the API response and is not retained by us as part of that request. Content produced by asynchronous crawl jobs is stored only transiently to assemble and deliver the job result, and is deleted on a rolling basis. See our Privacy Policy for details.
7. Enforcement
We may suspend or terminate access, block specific targets, or remove content that violates this Policy, with or without notice, and we will cooperate with valid legal process. If you believe content is being collected from your site in violation of this Policy, or you wish to request that a domain be blocked, contact abuse@apexapi.dev. We aim to review takedown and block requests promptly.
8. Changes
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
Questions about this Policy may be sent to legal@apexapi.dev.
